PORT GLASGOW Juniors boss Tam Jamieson wants his side to remain grounded ahead of their trip to face St Peter's in their rearranged West of Scotland Fourth Division clash.

The Undertakers are on a high after coming back from behind to beat Giffnock at Parklea last weekend.

Jamieson's men have what could be a title decider against league leaders Knightswood coming up at the end of the month - but the manager says it's vital that they keep their focus on the task in hand at New Western Park on Saturday.

Port Glasgow are in a good place heading into the tie (Image: alex craig) Seven points separate the Parklea side and Knightswood, who are due to make the trip to Inverclyde on February 22 - but Jamieson doesn't want to let things slip before then.

He added: "That was a good win last week. The only disappointing thing for me was to concede after just a minute and a half when I'd asked the boys to keep it tight.

"But that was their only shot for the whole of the first half. After swapping Aidan Duffy with Dylan McLaughlin we really kicked into gear.

"I think the second half flattered them, so we're happy to have picked up another valuable three points.

"We need to now take care of the games we've got coming up first and foremost, which starts with St Peter's this weekend.

"We need to make sure that we pick up six points out of our next six to ensure we remain on Knightswood's tails before we play them on February 22.

"We don't know what St Peter's are like, but looking at the table they've conceded as many as they've scored.

"So we know they're a threat, whilst we know we can score goals.

"We'll create chances more weeks than not, so we're hoping to come away with the three points."

Dylan McLaughlin sat out training on Wednesday (Image: alex craig) Jamieson faces an anxious wait to see if key forward Dylan McLaughlin will be fit enough to make the short trip up the M8.

The Undertakers boss has had a rough time of it with injuries since the Christmas break but he has been boosted by the return of Kenny Mearns.

He added: "We're hoping that Dylan McLaughlin will be OK for the weekend. He sat out training on Wednesday night.

"On the other hand, we've got Kenny Mearns back this weekend. But it does seem to be one in one out just now.

"If we can get everybody fit at the one time then we'll be flying, but we've got the quality here that should be more than able to come in and compete."

Saturday's clash gets under way at 2pm.
